Creating Pages in WordPress

1. Log in to WordPress Dashboard
- Go to your website’s admin area by adding “/wp-admin” to your site’s URL (e.g., yourwebsite.com/wp-admin).
- Enter your username and password to log in.
2. Navigate to Pages
- In the WordPress dashboard, find and click on “Pages” in the left-hand menu.
- Click on “Add New” to create a new page.
3. Add Page Title and Content
- Enter a title for your page in the box at the top.
- Below the title, add your content using the visual editor. You can format text, add images, and create links using the toolbar.
- Use the “Publish” or “Save Draft” button on the right-hand side to save your changes.
4. Set Page Attributes
- On the right-hand side, you can set various attributes for your page:
- Template: Choose a template if your theme offers different page layouts.
- Parent: Assign a parent page if this page should be a child of another page.
- Order: Set the order of pages if you have a custom menu.
5. Publish or Update
- Once you’re satisfied with your page, click “Publish” to make it live on your website.
- Use “Update” to save changes to an existing page.
6. View Your Page
- After publishing or updating, click “View Page” to see how it looks on your website.
- You can always edit the page again from the Pages section in the dashboard.
Creating Blog Posts in WordPress
1. Log in to WordPress Dashboard
- Follow the same steps as above to log in to your WordPress dashboard.
2. Navigate to Posts
- In the WordPress dashboard, click on “Posts” in the left-hand menu.
- Click on “Add New” to start a new blog post.
3. Add Post Title and Content
- Enter a title for your blog post at the top.
- Below the title, write your blog content using the visual editor. Format text, add images, and create links as needed.
- Use the “Publish” or “Save Draft” button on the right to save your work.
4. Set Categories and Tags (Optional)
- On the right-hand side, you can assign categories and tags to organise your blog posts.
- Categories help visitors navigate topics on your blog, while tags highlight specific keywords.
5. Featured Image (Optional)
- Below the content editor, you can set a featured image for your blog post.
- Click “Set featured image,” upload a new image or select one from your media library, and then click “Set featured image.”
6. Publish or Update
- Once your blog post is ready, click “Publish” to make it live on your website.
- Use “Update” to save changes to an existing post.
7. View Your Blog Post
- After publishing or updating, click “View Post” to see your blog post live on your website.
- You can edit or delete posts from the Posts section in the dashboard.
